Felicia Sullivan and The Sky Isn't Visible From Here

Feliciastalk
Yesterday evening, I had the pleasure of hanging out with my friend Felicia Sullivan as she's traveling the west coast on a book tour for her memoir, The Sky Isn't Visible from Here. The book is a poignant tale of Felicia as she grew up with a unstable, drug-addict mother. We had a great dinner where we spent most of the conversation freaked out over the plot line of Gossip Girl. Then headed over to The Booksmith for her talk. She's an amazing speaker and I was blown away and moved by her reading. Plus she's had baked goods at her book talk! You can't go wrong with cookies people!

Go Green

Gap Greenlinendress
I've been noticing around the streets of San Francisco a fresh green color as a bright alternative to the yellow that has been staying strong the last couple of seasons. I love the summery look of the Gap's green tropical linen shift dress ($59.50).

Grey Handbags for Summer

Kc Hk60761Le 020
I know white may be the bag to have this Summer but I have a feeling grey may be giving white and silver metallics a run for its money. Light grey is the shade of choice and I love this Kenneth Cole Soft Touch Large Hobo ($358) for it's perfect shade and bohemian hobo shape. The bag also comes in a smaller hobo size for $198.

Coco Chanel Movie Starring Audrey Tautou

Audreytautou Cocochanel
Production has started on the new French movie on the life of Coco Chanel starting Audrey Tautou of Amelie fame. Coco avant Chanel directed by Anne Fontaine will cover Coco's life before she was famous from learning how to sew in an orphanage as a child to making costumes for herself as a cabaret singer and for other singers when she was a young woman.

Remember when it was rumored Demi Moore was going to play her in a movie? I'm so glad that this is a French movie with a French actress to tell the real story. I'm so looking forward to it's release -- hopefully it won't take long to come to the U.S. Find out more in the Variety article (via Buzz Sugar).

Sundays at Tiffany's - New Book & Contest

Sundaysattiffanys
With Summer approaching that means it's time for guilty pleasure reading for me. I am looking forward to picking up this new book, Sundays at Tiffany's by James Patterson.

Here's what the book's about:

Jane Margaux is a lonely little girl. Her mother, a powerful Broadway producer, makes time for her only once a week, for their Sunday trip to admire jewelry at Tiffany's. Jane has only one friend: a handsome, comforting, funny man named Michael. He's perfect. But only she can see him. Michael can't stay forever, though. On Jane's ninth birthday he leaves, promising her that she'll soon forget him.

Years later, in her thirties, Jane is just as alone as she was as a child. And despite her own success as a playwright, she is even more trapped by her overbearing mother. Then she meets someone–a handsome, comforting, funny man. He's perfect. His name is Michael...

Kinda fun, huh? Reminds me a little like Ally McBeal, well, sort of.

But wait there's more! To celebrate the book launch there's a contest to win a pair of diamond earrings from Tiffany & Co! Just enter the contest here from now through May 8th at 11:59 EST.

Clothes off Our Back - Project Runway Alumni go Pure & Natural

Dianabag Auction
On the Clothes Off Our Back auction block is this one of a kind Pure & Natural Handbag design by Project Runway alumni and friend, Diana Eng. There's still 2 days left in the auction for a good cause.

From the site:

Own a one-of-a-kind handbag created by Diana Eng, a top veteran from season two of Bravo TV’s breakout hit Project Runway. Eng had up to one month to design a handbag utilizing Pure & Natural®’s biodegradable Bar Soap packaging. The material consists of 100% post-consumer paper with seeds embedded inside that, when planted, will sprout baby’s breath in 4-6 weeks. So, you can use your designer handbag today and plant it for a better tomorrow!

Proceeds from the auction benefit Earth Pledge, a nonprofit organization that promotes sustainable development by identifying and implementing innovative technologies that balance human and natural systems.

Check out the other Pure & Natural handbag creations by Project Runway alumni like Alison Kelly, Jack Mackenroth, and Kayne Gillaspie.

Vince Spring 08 Dresses

Vincespring08Dresses
I can't hide my love for Vince. As much as I wear their sweaters year round, the new crop of dresses for Spring are super cute and follow the ombre and paint-splatter trend. My favorites out of the bunch is the Printed Stretch-Silk Dress ($295 at Neiman Marcus) and the Painterly-Printed Shift Dress ($245 at Neiman Marcus). You can see the complete Vince collection at Neiman's here.
